What is the best solution for the treatment of e-waste?
E-waste mainly refers to scrap PCB board. Because PCB board consists of 40% metals and 60% non-metals, and we can get high profit from the metals, so we shouldn't throw away the e-waste directly. Then, how should we process the e-waste? What is the best solution the deal with e-waste? Let's discuss it together.
There are 3 solutions to deal with e-waste: chemical treatment, fire treatment and mechanical treatment.
1. Chemical treatment
Chemical treatment
The chemical treatment is to put the e-waste into the acidic or alkaline liquid, and perform a series of operations such as precipitation, replacement and separation of the leachate, then we will get metals. But in the processing, it will generate a lot of waste liquid, which contains strong acid and highly toxic fluoride. It also emits toxic gases, which is more harmful to the environment. This solution is not recommended.
2. Fire treatment
Fire treatment
This treatment is to incinerate the e-waste, perform a series of operation of smelting, sintering, melting and so on, to remove the non-metals. However, this solution is similar to the chemical treatment, it will also do great harm to the environment. It is also not recommended.
3. Mechanical treatment
mechanical treatment
This way is to separate metals from e-waste by using machine. It consists of shredding, crushing, sieving and separation. By using the machine, you will get metals and resin fiber non-metals. This way is easy to operate, low cost, and generate non-pollution to environment. So this way may be the best way to treat e-waste.
Besides the above three solutions, there is a microbial treatment. Due to this way will spend a long time to treat e-waste, so I will not make a introduction.
